Readings in Yurts
The 8th Berlin Wintersalon offered 100 readings with 35 authors of 5 genres with its “Readings in Yurts” at the Sony Center am Potsdamer Platz. Between January 22 and 25 all readings dealt with the topic “Learn from life – history and stories”: For instance historical themes, childhood memories, life careers, learn from history and the impact of the past on the presence will be made subject of discussion.Starting every full hour, literature lovers could experience lively stories for 30 minutes. In original Mongolian tents made of wood and felt authors read like: Harald Martenstein, Matthias Matussek, Stefan Klein, Cem Özdemir, Winfried Glatzeder, Emma Braslavsky, Kurt Drawert, Pascale Hugues, Tobias Hülswitt, Finn-Ole Heinrich, Anja Tuckermann, Rudolf Herfurtner, Jutta Richter, Joachim Sartorius, Jockel Tschiersch, Martina Brandl, Horst Evers and English authors such as Jonathan Coe, Celia Rees and Walter Rothschild. Special readings for school classes were available for Thursday and Friday before midday.
